Meet our Providers
Joseph Fesperman, MD
Dr. Fesperman is a board certified family physician. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he continued on to receive his Medical Degree. He completed his residency training at Duke University/Watts Family Medicine where he was a Mead Johnson and Terry Kane Award recipient, and chief resident in his third year.
He truly enjoys taking care of children from newborn to adolescence and facing the challenges of aging in the context of caring for the whole family.
Dr. Fesperman is married, has three daughters and is actively involved in the life of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
He enjoys music, and reading science fiction.
Mira Boone, MD
Dr. Boone, grew up in North Wilkesboro, and has returned with her husband to raise their newborn son in a community she loves. She looks forward to getting to know her patients and providing them with high quality health care.
Board Certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Boone concentrates on helping patients maintain a healthy lifestyle, regardless of age. She has a particular interest in women's health issues and pediatrics. She is also bilingual speaking fluent English and Spanish.
Dr. Boone earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by medical school at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. She completed her family medicine residency and internship at Ventura Family Medicine, in Ventura California. For the past two years she has gained experience working both in an outpatient setting and serving as a hospitalist.
Glendon Rougeou, MD
Dr. Rougeou is a board certified family physician. He earned his bachelor's of science degree from Louisiana State University, and went on to receive his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center. He completed his residency with the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership in affiliation with the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Dr. Rougeou focuses on family centered care and preventive care. He has a special interest in the care of children and has a magical ability of putting children at ease when they come to see him.
Originally from Louisiana, he moved to our community following his residency. When not at work, he enjoys music, reading, movies, fine arts, and LSU football.
Ivy Johnson, APRN, NP-C
Ivy earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science from Winston-Salem State University and her Master of Nursing Science from East Carolina University. She brings to the practice over seven years of hands-on experience as a Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and Educator. She has experience in family practice, emergency nursing, labor and delivery, and newborn care.
As a family Nurse Practitioner, Ivy is a great listener and has a deep commitment to preventative healthcare. Her first priority is helping you be the healthiest "you" that you can be.
As a mother of two young children and having a teenage brother, she loves kids and has a special place in her heart for adolescents. She truly understands what a challenging, yet rewarding, time it can be raising a family. She has undying respect for the elderly and enjoys hearing their stories as well as seeing the sparkle in their eyes as she shares their joys.
