DISPOSAL OF ELECTRONIC WASTE (E-WASTE)
In today’s electronic world, it is very important to dispose of electronic waste (e-waste) correctly to prevent important information being released to others and environmental liabilities and impact. Electronic waste consists of labtops, computer monitors, printers, and cpus. Also, any electronic waste that contains data, for example (diskettes, tapes, hard drives, hand-held devices) must be disposed of through Computer Surplus.
Procedures for disposing of e-waste:
- Send an email to computersurplus@wfubmc.edu with the specific location, name, phone number and type and quantity of e-waste.
- Once email is received by Material Disposition, the e-waste will be picked up.
- While waiting for a pick-up, the e-waste must not be placed in the hallways.
