Research Description:

Dr. Cline is currently interested in the assessment and control of untreated and under treated hypertension out of the emergency department, with special attention to follow-up and referral. This project has been funded by the CDC through the Association of Teachers of Preventative Medicine. Current trials include a comparison of nicardipine and labetalol in the management of hypertensive emergencies. Other ongoing research includes the analysis of patient behaviors, attitudes, and mindset towards individual hypertension control in high risk populations.

The goal of this project was to determine the effect of acute alcohol intoxication on the validity of orthostatic tilt test to determine acute blood loss.
