Student Services, Diversity and Development Initiatives

Diversity PictureThe ability to recruit a diverse student body is in part determined by having a historical precedent and an environment that is welcoming of qualified underrepresented and/or disadvantaged students. Wake Forest has a strong institutional commitment to increase diversity in its training programs.  Student Services, Diversity and Development Initiatives (SS/DDI) and the Maya Angelou Research Center in the School of Medicine, represent significant support for the inclusion of underrepresented and/or disadvantaged students and a diverse faculty  in every aspect of the academic environment.

The programs and activities administered by Student Services, Diversity and Development Initiatives support the core mission of the institution.  We focus not only on short term objectives such as recruiting qualified, underrepresented and/or disadvantaged students, but long range objectives as well.  SS/DDI continually seeks to increase opportunities in the health professions and provide educational opportunities and support services for underrepresented and/or disadvantaged kindergarten, middle school, high school and college students, helping to ensure a smooth transition through graduation.

Student Services, Diversity and Development Initiatives is located on the 3rd floor of Watlington Hall.
