Dr. Preston Miller grew up in Georgia. He attended college at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he received a degree in Psychology. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where he also completed his General Surgery Residency. He then went on to complete a Trauma/Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Tennessee-Memphis at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He also serves as the Director of Surgical Intensive Care and Director of the Surgical Care Care Fellowship. His clinical interest include lung injury, ventilator associated pneumonia and shock resuscitation, with multiple published manuscripts/national presentations on these and other subjects. His current ongoing research projects pertain to pulmonary contusion and ventilator-associated pneumonia.
