JOURNAL CLUB
This conference is held monthly and a faculty member and fellow are assigned for each session. The faculty member assigned will assist the fellow in choosing an article and evaluate it before the conference. The fellow will be responsible for presenting the article(s). The “Guidelines for Review of the Literature” or some other standard evaluation tool (i.e. those published in JAMA) should be used. The presentation of the article at JC should begin with a BRIEF outline of the study (which assumes that the audience has read the article prior to the conference) and that the majority of the presentation/discussion should be a critique of the articles that includes the items on the “Guidelines for Review of the Literature”. Every year fellows are responsible for two journal clubs.
