Practice Council
The Practice Council defines, implements, and maintains the highest standards of clinical nursing practice consistent with established and/or evolving professional standards and requirements of regulatory agencies.
The Practice Council activities include:
· Defines the scope of practice of the professional nurse at NCBH.
· Defines the scope of practice of the LPN at NCBH.
· Defines the role and responsibilities of patient care support staff at NCBH.
· Reviews, approves, and revises policies and procedures in areas where nursing care is delivered in accordance with current national guidelines.
· Establishes an evaluation and a peer review format for all clinical nurses.
· Incorporates nursing research findings into clinical practice as appropriate.
· Participates in the redesign of the patient care delivery system.
· Addresses multidisciplinary issues which impact patient care.
· Participates in the review and recommendation of products and equipment.
· Represents the nursing perspective in ethical/legal issues within NCBH.
