Construction is under way on a $58 million, 240,000 square foot facility for the Center for Research on Human Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention. The shell of the main building is complete; the Nutrition Education Wing is open, as is the top floor of the main building, which houses a transgenic animal facility.
Construction will begin this fall on two more floors - a sophisticated imaging floor, and a cancer floor. These facilities, with others already available, will enable the School of Medicine to make major contributions to answering significant questions about the role of nutrition in chronic disease.
