Total Joint Replacement

Upper Extremity/Hand

  • Adult patients who receive surgery as part of the treatment of distal radius fracture are followed to study function in order health-related quality of life and to document post-fracture outcomes. The database of information that has been collected can be queried to answer numerous research questions.
  • A multicenter, prospective study is underway to evaluate the Copeland Humeral Resurfacing Head for outcome and durability.
  • Pathology of the rotator cuff that does not respond to conservative treatment often is treated by various surgical procedures. Prospective and retrospective studies are currently underway to evaluate long-term outcomes of patients who undergo rotator cuff surgery.
  • Patients who have sustained microvascular or nerve injuries are evaluated during their treatment to document the effects of various treatment interventions.
