Benefits of Team Collaboration

Our sports medicine team includes specialized physicians in adult, adolescent and upper extremity, orthopaedic surgery, family medicine, physical therapy and occupational therapy. The key benefit: we treat the “whole patient” with the goal of maximizing performance and minimizing injury.

All physicians in our program have specialized fellowship training in sports medicine in addition to training in orthopaedics or family medicine. Our therapists also have specialized training and expertise in sports injury rehabilitation. This collaboration within an academic medical center ensures that your orthopaedic issue is not treated in isolation. For example, if you have a condition such as asthma that presents a barrier to athletic or functional performance, we’re able to identify and treat those challenges.
