John Conforti, DO

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and have resided here for over two years with my wife and three children.  I am an assistant professor in the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Wake Forest University.

I received my D.O. degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1989 and completed an Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep fellowships at Tulane University. During that time I received extensive training as an Interventional Pulmonologist under Dr Kevin Kovitz who trained in France from Dr Dumon. I am Board certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care and am Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.

I enjoy taking care of all aspects of pulmonary, critical care and sleep disorders and have a particular interest and expertise in malignant airway obstruction requiring rigid bronchoscopy, laser, APC, cautery, balloon dilation and endobronchial stent placement.  My sleep clinic is a dedicated sleep disorders diagnostic and therapeutics clinic taking care of all aspects of sleep medicine to include OSA, OHS, periodic limb movements disorder, restless leg syndrome, insomnia and narcolepsy.

My research interests include Human Performance Evaluation. This involves cardiopulmonary exercise testing and evaluation for both athletes and patients with disorders.
