Peter Morris, MD Peter E. Morris, MD FACP, FCCP, is an Associate Professor in the Section on Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at WFUSM and is the Medical Director of Intermediate Care for WFUBMC. Dr. Morris attended Cornell University Medical College and completed Internal Medicine residency at Vanderbilt University. As well, Dr. Morris completed his subspecialty training at Vanderbilt University where he had a particular emphasis in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome research, which included basic and clinical research efforts. Dr. Morris then joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky, where he continued clinical research efforts in acute lung injury. He received funding from the NIH to study function of bronchoalveolar lavage cells from ARDS patients, and from the American Lung Association for a murine model of acute lung injury. In 1999, Dr. Morris joined the faculty at Wake Forest. Dr. Morris has an interest in clinical research and has served as the site-PI for over 22 separate FDA Phase I, II or III level investigations. He has served on Data Safety Monitoring Boards and Clinical Evaluation Committees for several FDA Phase III investigations. Since 2003, he has been a member of the FDA's Allergy and Pulmonary Advisory Committee.
