Volunteer opportunities at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center are as diversified as your own interests. All new Volunteers will be assigned to a volunteer trainer or department staff member to be trained two sessions or until they feel qualified to accept an assignment on their own.

A three-month commitment is required. Volunteers are expected to volunteer a minimum of 3 ½- 4 hours per week - morning, afternoon, or evening. Every effort is made to assign you to the area of your choice. However, priority of assignment will be given on a first come basis and according to need. Set hours are 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., and 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. (8:00 p.m. - midnight shifts are available in the Emergency Department only), Monday - Sunday.

*Exceptions will be made for people who work until 5:00 p.m.
