Breast Care Center

Comprehensive and Compassionate Care

All the advantages of a
comprehensive cancer center

The Breast Care Center is part of our Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center in western North Carolina.

As the area’s only truly multidisciplinary breast care center, our Center consolidates the services of a multidisciplinary team in a central location, which allows the patient to be seen by multiple specialists during a single visit. This team includes breast surgeons, radiologists, medical and radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons, pathologists, specialty nurses and genetic counselors.

While most women with an abnormal mammogram do not have cancer, receiving a definitive diagnosis is the only way to alleviate concerns. For those who do have cancer, evaluating treatment options and determining a course of action as quickly as possible is of great importance.

Breast Care Center Receives
National Accreditation

At the Breast Care Center, on-site pathology frequently allows a diagnosis to be made in minutes. Our physicians believe it should be the standard of care that the patient is diagnosed before they go into the operating room.

PATIENT PERSPECTIVES
“You can feel a strength in each of the physicians that permeates you as the patient, and leaves you confident that you have made the best choice.”
 - Georgia, patient

Located next to the Breast Care Center, Outpatient Radiology offers mammography services for preventative screening as well as following surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy in women with a history of breast cancer.
