Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University, an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center (one of only 38 in the Nation).

Within the Department of Radiation Oncology, we believe that effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer depends on a strong partnership with referring physicians. Close communication with each physician at every stage of the treatment program provides integrated care. Our goal is to enhance your patient's care. Our focus as your partner in treatment is to provide both your patient and you with hope. Radiation Oncology and the Cancer Center have an active cancer patient support program aimed at meeting the emotional and spiritual needs of its patients.
Our Radiation Oncology Department has the latest in Radiation Equipment. The facility includes state-of-the-art 3 linear accelerators, North Carolina's only Leksell Gamma Knife, 2 simulators that include a CT-simulator, a full range of brachytherapy equipment (the latest Low-Dose and High-Dose Remote Afterloader systems), and 3-dimensional imaging based treatment plannning/delivery.
