Outreach As stated on the National Highway Traffic Administration’s (NHTSA) website, the mission of CIREN is “to improve the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of motor vehicle crash injuries to reduce deaths, disabilities, and human and economic costs.” Community outreach is a key component to completing this mission. The table below summarizes Toyota-WFU CIREN center’s current outreach efforts. Downloadable links are highlighted in the table below. The presentation the Wake Forest University School of Medicine CIREN center gave at the quarterly CIREN meeting from the 19th to the 21st of September is available for review. This presentation describes how Mahalanobis distance can be used to determine how similar the NASS and CIREN databases are in order to determine the statistical significance of CIREN studies.
