Delivering Equal Access to Care - DEAC


Wake Forest University School of Medicine's
Student-Run Health Clinic

 

The DEAC Clinic is a student-run, free health clinic in Winston-Salem that serves a population of people who cannot afford health insurance.  DEAC focuses on providing long-term and preventative healthcare.  The clinic is staffed by medical and physician assistant students who work in tandem with licensed physicians.

v  September 17th, 2009 is the One Year Anniversary of the opening of the DEAC Clinic.  In the past year:

  • 360+ medical & physician assistant students have volunteered over 4,000 hours of their time
  • 22+ physicians from Baptist Hospital & private practices have donated their time & expertise
  • 340+ patient visits & $37,312 in health care services have been provided at no charge
