Application - Special Requirements

For the four programs listed below, please include the following material with your application packet.

• English - requests a writing sample of approximately ten pages in length. Applicants are also required to take the GRE subject test by the application deadline.
• Communication - requests that applicants submit a writing sample, in English, to demonstrate the applicant's written communication abilities.
• Health and Exercise Science (HES) - requests a one page resume and a one page statement outlining the applicant's interest in exercise science, reasons for applying to the program, and a description of your future goals. Although not a requirement for admission, the department highly recommends that applicants schedule an interview with the HES Graduate Program Director in December, January, or February.
• Education - Applicants to the MTF Program for Foreign Language must contact the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) at www.actfl.org to set up an Oral Proficiency Interview. Please include your ACTFL Certificate with your application materials that are submitted to the Graduate School. All other programs (including MTA's, VIF and MTF's in other content areas) do not need to contact ACTFL.
