Marissa Howard-McNatt, MD, FACS

Dr. Howard-McNatt is 1 of 4 faculty members of the Surgical Oncology Service. She completed her undergraduate degree at Smith College and subsequently earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1995. Dr. Howard-McNatt was a general surgery resident at Emory University and concluded her chief residency years at West Virginia University. Following this, she completed a fellowship in breast surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2003. After her surgical training, Dr. Howard-McNatt joined the faculty at West Virginia University where she was an Assistant Professor.  She then joined the faculty at Wake Forest University 2008 as an Assistant Professor on the Surgical Oncology Service.

 

Dr. Howard-McNatt is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Her area of expertise and practice is breast disease (both benign and malignant). Her present research interests are focused in clinical and translational breast cancer projects.  She also focuses upon elderly and minority populations. She is a member of numerous professional and scientific societies.
