Nathan Mowery, MD Assistant Professor of Surgery Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Services

Dr. Nathan Mowery joined the Department of General Surgery in August 2008 as an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Services. Originally from Charleston, West Virginia, he completed his undergraduate education at Wittenberg University and attended West Virginia University for his medical education. He then completed his General Surgical training at Indiana University. He was a Trauma fellow at Louisiana State University when Hurricane Katrina occurred. He completed a clinical science research fellowship in Trauma Outcomes at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he went on to complete a two-year fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care.
Dr. Mowery’s clinical practice covers the scope of trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and critical care medicine. Clinical research interests include stress insulin resistance, dense data collection, and trauma outcomes. His research has given him the opportunity to speak at numerous national scientific meetings on these topics.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds certificates in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. |
