Echocardiography
Echocardiography

Echocardiography, also called an ECG or EKG, is a testing method that provides a graphic record of the heart's electrical impulses to determine if the heart has been damaged.

Stress Echocardiography
Stress Echocardiography is a test that helps diagnose heart disease with the help of ultrasound images. Following exercise or other stress to the heart, the images reveal parts of the heart that may not be receiving enough blood or oxygen because of blocked arteries. The stress echocardiography test may be used to monitor your progress if you already have a known heart condition.

Transesophageal Echocardiography
The Medical Center of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center specializes in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), which is used to diagnose certain types of heart disease. It is also used for intraoperative monitoring during cardiac valve surgery or high-risk coronary artery surgery, and during non-cardiac surgery on high-risk cardiac patients.
