Clinical, Research and Educational Activities:
A major component of the clinical teaching, research and patient care of the Infectious Diseases Section occurs in the Infectious Diseases Specialty Clinic (IDSC) that meets Tuesday through Friday morning in a spacious new outpatient facility. This clinic, the major regional outpatient care facility for over 1200 patients with HIV infection, is staffed by an infectious diseases faculty member, nurse practitioner, infectious diseases fellows and a variety of rotating house officers. It provides state of the art clinical care and tremendous training opportunity in diagnostic and therapeutic HIV medicine. We our currently expanding our clinical and research services through Ryan White funding and are adding further faculty specializing in HIV medicine. In addition to patients with HIV, this clinic sees a full spectrum of other outpatient infections.

My research interests center on clinical efficacy and safety studies of antimicrobials, sexually transmitted diseases, human immunodeficiency virus infection, and infections in oncology patients.
