Patient Testimonials

This is just a small sampling of what some of our past patients have
to say about us.  Please read on and enjoy their stories...

Dear Dr. Yalcinkaya,

Thank you so much for taking me on as a patient.  The septum resection and debridoment worked.  Yeah!  The delayed drainage is history.  I am very happy.  Should I say it again...very, very happy!

You are wonderful.

Sincerely,

Susan Earles

Dear Dr. Yalcinkaya,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our story about our experience with you and your staff and the miracle of our blessed twins.  I shared my story in full with my church family on Father's Day 2007.  I titled it, "The Desires of My Heart".  These few paragraphs are small in comparison to the thankfulness we feel in our hearts.

In 2005, my husband and I were referred to the Wake Forest Center for Reproductive Medicine by my local gynecologist after being told it was virtually impossible for us to have children on our own.  Four years prior my husband battled testicular cancer and tests on me showed I had polycystic ovarian syndrome.  Our first visit and our first glimpse of hope was in December of 2005.  The staff was very friendly and always sensitive and supportive of our case.  Upon meeting Dr. Yalcinkaya, I always felt he had one goal in mind, and that was to get me pregnant.  He proceeded aggressively with treatment, and for a woman desperately wanting a child, it was exactly how I wanted to be treated.  Becoming a mother couldn't come soon enough.

It was concluded that we should proceed with an IVF cycle.  In May, after the egg retrieval process, I suffered from a severe case of hyperstimulation, and we were almost ready to give up on having children.  But, Dr. Yalcinkaya was there with me through the whole thing.  I know he devoted countless hours outside of the office and away from his own family to tend to me and my case.  He continued to encourage us and believe in the goal he always had for us - to give us a baby.

On April 9, 2007, we delivered our precious son and beautiful daughter.  I will forever be grateful to Dr. Yalcinkaya and other staff members who helped us through one of the most difficult times of our lives.  I will never forget our experience with them.  We have a bond for life.  I continue to thank God for leading us to them and for the double blessings He has given us.

Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4

Kindest Regards,

Dr. Yalcinkaya, Lori, & Staff-

Kevin and I want to thank you for everything you have done for us.  From day one you took special interest in our case and seeing us through treatment successfully.  We never once felt like a number or just another patient, each of you made us feel like we were your most important case.  It is special when an office that sees so many couples in such a stressful and emotional time can make each of them feel like they are top priority and that is how you made us feel.  We will forever be grateful to you and the gifts you have given us.  There is no way we could ever thank you enough – you have us a family – a family we dreamed of for so long, that sometimes we thought may never be possible.  You are truly special and we are so grateful that we were your patients and had the opportunity to be under the care of the best clinic in the business.  You guys are the greatest and we wish you all the best.

Love,
Jennifer, Kevin, Baby A, & Baby B Lowe

I cannot begin to express how incredible our experience was with Dr. Yalcinkaya and all of his staff.  The only option we had for having children was in vitro fertilization.  Our hopes were always to have children – and we especially wanted boy-girl twins.  We thought this may never happen but we were wrong.  We now have our boy-girl twins and they are 10 months old; crawling and babbling every waking moment!!

The support and encouragement we had from Dr. Yalcinkaya and his staff was unparalleled.  They maintain such a positive atmosphere and really make you feel like family.  I felt like each of the staff members were praying and hoping for our children as much as we were!  Anyone who goes through the experience of having difficulty with fertility knows just how scary and helpless it feels to know that your hope (of having) children is out of your control.  Dr. Yalcinkaya and his staff are not only able to help with bringing you children, but they are able to ease your fears, hold your hand and give you hope every step of the way.

We are Cebern and Sarah Blankenship and this is the story of our “Frozen Blessing”.

Cebern and I were married 1 year when we started trying to have a baby.  Six months later, nothing.  At my annual GYN appointment I discussed it with my doctor.  He recommended an Ovulation test to get started to see if and when I was ovulating.  After a couples months of ovulation kits and taking Cholmid, still nothing.  Next step a Sperm Analysis.  There we found Cebern had “zero” sperm.  That’s right “zero”.  We were then referred to a Urologist who found my husband is a carrier of Cystic Fibrosis.  Genetic studies were done on both of us.  I, thank goodness, was not a carrier so therefore we could go to the next step.  The Urologist referred us to an infertility clinic out of state (at that time procedures we needed were not performed in WV).  There we learned my husband didn’t have a Vas Deferens, the doctors explained that was one of the side effects you could have being a carrier of CF.  This meant we not only needed IVF, but with ICSI and sperm aspiration.  This was in 1997.  These procedures were very expensive.  We took out a loan and saved every penny we could to have a baby.  In January 1998 we did our first cycle of IVF, with no success.  I was 22 years old and my husband was 26.  We were both in excellent condition and the doctor couldn’t give us reasons why it didn’t work.  We had 7 embryos to freeze to try again later.  Do the expense we had to wait 6 months before we were able to try again.  We decided to pursue our careers, build a home, and then adopt when we built our savings back up.

Seven years later we decided to take the gamble once more and try IVF again.  We had attempted adoption through foster care and were able to bring home 3 babies from the hospital, with the hopes of adopting each one.  Of course the adoptions fell through.  After those heartbreaks we were ready to try for our own again.  In 2005 we went to see Dr. Yalcinkaya and told him our story.  He said he could help us.  On our first visit he started me on fertility drugs.  We were so excited we knew this would be our time to be parents.  Negative once again.  Dr. Yalcinkaya encouraged us to try again; he could not give us a medical reason why it didn’t work, but not to give up.  One year later we tried again and the results were a “low positive”, which means you are not pregnant but there was some attachment of the embryo to the uterine wall.  To us this was progress.  We had never seen a positive pregnancy test before.  We had some embryos left over to freeze so we were anxious to try again ASAP.  The following month we tried again and we used three frozen embryos and finally saw a real POSITIVE pregnancy test.  Nine months later Cebern Luke Blankenship was born via c-section at 8# 14oz and 21.5 inches long.  He is our frozen blessing.

After nine years of praying, hoping and a lot of financial planning Cebern Luke was definitely worth waiting for.

I can’t say how grateful I am to Dr. Yalcinkaya, the nurses and staff at Wake Forest Center for Reproductive Medicine.  After several failed attempts at artificial insemination and IVF, I was recommended to Dr. Yalcinkaya.

Since I live in New Jersey, there were special considerations in having the transfer of my frozen embryos done in North Carolina.  Dr. Yalcinkaya and Lori Cooke went above and beyond in helping to coordinate testing done in New Jersey to monitor my response to meds so that I only had to come to North Carolina for a few days for the transfer.

Because of their expertise and care, I am currently in my 24th week of pregnancy and am expecting the best Christmas present of all…

We have two Miracles now…My husband and I tried for three years to start a family.  He and I both had fertility issues.  We tried three Intrauterine Inseminations which were unsuccessful and did three attempts at IVF…the third one being successful.

We are writing to give you HOPE.  According to percentages and statistics we had little to no chance of conceiving.  THEN we met Dr. Yalcinkaya, who gave us all the time wanted/needed and treated our case aggressively.  Through Dr. Yalcinkaya’s expertise and God’s hand we gave birth to our precious twins in March 2007.  A happy and health boy and girl!  Dr. Yalcinkaya made himself ‘available’ and to a couple in the midst of fertility and ALL that it provokes…availability was our Saving Grace.

I was 36 and my husband 37 when the twins were so beautifully delivered.  They are true Miracles.  We were pretty well at the end of the journey when we met Dr. Yalcinkaya…physically, emotionally and financially.  We held on tight to our Faith and each other and knew – we – along with Dr. Yalcinkaya had done all we could do; the rest was up to God.  There are many details unspoken here and truths painfully learned, but we write to give you hope.  To you precious couples who are on this journey there is hope…Have Faith…Believe in Miracles.
