Program Details: Coursework

Required courses have been designed to give students a firm, interdisciplinary foundation in the basic biomedical sciences, yet allow flexibility for the student and his or her adviser to select electives that interest the student or enhance the student’s research. Therefore, required courses have been kept to a minimum and are listed below.

Three one-credit courses on professionalism, bioethics, and the responsible conduct of research are required of all first-year students in Bowman Gray campus PhD programs (GRAD 713, 714, and 701). Please refer to the Graduate Bulletin for a detailed description of each course.
