Jane Boggs, MD is Medical Director of Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Services and Associate Professor of Neurology with the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center of Wake Forest University. Her areas of epilepsy expertise include women in epilepsy, epilepsy in the elderly and medical disease and epilepsy. She is also a board certified Neurophysiologist and has served as director of two University Clinical Neurophysiology labs and Intraoperative Monitoring Programs. She recently was employed in the division of Medical Education of Orlando Regional Healthcare, where she developed and directed the Orlando Epilepsy Monitoring and clinic for the central Florida EFA. She trained at the Medical College of Virginia, (Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia), and after both epilepsy and neurophysiology fellowships stayed as full-time faculty there until 1997. She developed and directed the epilepsy monitoring unit and intraoperative services for the University or South Alabama and directed their neurology residency program until 2002. She has conducted and presented original research in status epilepticus, neurocardiology, SUDEP, and medically complex patients with epilepsy, including women and the elderly. She has been a Principal Investigator in numerous Phase II-IV pharmaceutical sponsored studies, the NIH Greater Richmond Status Epilepticus Projects, the VA Cooperative Study of Status Epilepticus (CSP 265) and investigator-initiated studies of epilepsy and anticonvulsants. She has authored numerous book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, educational symposia and e-publications on her areas of research expertise. She is a reviewer for Epilepsia and several e-journals, and is a committee and taskforce member in the AES and AAN. She has spoken nationally and internationally in CME and industry sponsored lectures as well as in the AAN, AES and the World Congress of Epilepsy.
