Surgical Internship
One year of General Surgical Internship is required before beginning Otolaryngolgy Residency.
This internship should be completed with the Department of Surgery at Wake Forest University - Baptist Medical Center. Any other arrangements must be specifically approved by Dr. Dale Browne.
While it is required to go through the Surgery match, a position is reserved for each individual determined by the early Otolaryngology match.
Internship provides opportunity to learn the care of surgical patients and develop professional maturity. We strive to chose rotations which maximize the educational value relevant to Otolaryngology. This includes rotations in Ophthalmologic Plastic surgery and Emergency Medicine.
