Training the Next Generation of Private and Academic Otolaryngologist

APPLICATIONS:

Applications for residency are centralized nationally for the Otolaryngology Match. This is organized by National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).   We will except applications through ERAS until November 01, 2008.

ERAS - Electronic Residency Application Service

RESIDENCY INTERVIEW DATES:

Interviews are granted by invitation after review of the applications received from the National Resident Matching Program using ERAS. Information is available on their website https://services.aamc.org/eras/myeras2005/.  All guidelines, deadlines, and restrictions apply.  Foreign applicants must have a J-1 Visa.  Applicants to Otolaryngology do not need to apply to General Surgery also.

The Department of Otolaryngology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine will conduct interviews on a Friday and Saturday, January 23rd and 24th of 2009.  The interview schedule begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM.  There is a non-mandatory social event on Friday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Interviews will be conducted in the departments Academic Office on the 4th floor of Watlington Hall.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM I-40 BUSINESS EAST:

Take Interstate 40 Business East to Winston-Salem. Take the First Street/Hawthorne Road Exit and at the bottom of the ramp at the stoplight, take a left onto First Street. At the next stoplight, take a left onto Hawthorne Road. Proceed straight on Hawthorne Road through one stoplight. At the second stoplight, take a right onto Medical Center Boulevard. Keep straight on Medical Center Boulevard until you arrive at the Patient/Visitor Parking Deck located on the right. Park in the parking deck and proceed into the Clinical Sciences Tower. Travel is easiest on the Ground or First Floors. Locate the gray directional signs that are extended from the ceilings and follow their directions to Watlington Hall. Get on the elevator in Watlington Hall and take it up to the 4th floor. When you step off of the elevator, the Department of Otolaryngology is the first department on the left.

Take Interstate 40 Business West to Winston-Salem. Take the Cloverdale/Baptist Hospital Road Exit and at the bottom of the ramp at the stoplight, proceed straight onto Medical Center Boulevard. Proceed straight on Medical Center Boulevard until you arrive at the Patient/Visitor Parking Deck located on the left. Park in the parking deck and proceed into the Clinical Sciences Tower. Locate the gray directional signs that are extended from the ceilings and follow their directions to Watlington Hall. Get on the elevator in Watlington Hall and take it up to the 4th floor. AIRPORTS

There are several airports serving Winston-Salem. Piedmont Triad International (GSO) in Greensboro is the closest and is approximately 25 miles from the Medical Center traveling on I-40 Business West. Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU) is approximately 98 miles on I-40 Business West. Charlotte Airport (CLT) is approximately 85 miles traveling on I-77 North and I-40 East.
