
Samuel R. Franklin, Ph.D.
Samuel R. Franklin, Ph.D., is a Research Fellow in the Pain Mechanisms Lab in the Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where his current research focuses on understanding the mechanisms in the spinal cord that influence the facilitation or inhibition naturopathic pain.
As a PhD student in the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Sam’s research interests focused on mechanisms that influenced the development and plasticity of neuroanatomical connections within the auditory brainstem.
Prior to beginning his doctorate studies, Sam received both an MS degree in Anatomy and Neurobiology and a BS degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO at which time he became interested in teaching Gross Anatomy and Medical Education.
