Laboratory Technicians

Tanishua Bynum (Lab Technician II) Eisenach Group.
Tanishua joined the PML in September, 2002. She received a B.S. in Biology with a Chemistry minor from UNC Greensboro.
Currently, Tanishua is working on the study of Cox-1 in a post operative pain model. In the past, she has worked on several projects including the use of the chronic inflammatory neuritis model to determine the mechanism that clonidine uses to produce an anti-inflammatory phenotype immune response and relieve pain. Earlier, Her primary work with Dr. Li, focused on Adenosine modulators in the treatment of pain (T62).
In the future, Tanishua is looking towards a career in healthcare that may help her in clinical research.

Nancy Buechler (Lab Technician IV) Martin Group.

Renee Parker (Lab Technician II) Pain Center & Vincler Group.
Renee joined the group on April 19, 2005 after moving to Winston-Salem from Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science with a science concentration from Kansas State University, December 2000.
Renee was born and raised in the front range of Colorado. She has worked at Nestle Purina PetCare Product Technology Center, as a PetCare technician, helping with pet food protocols and animal care. She is hoping to return to school soon to start working on her Masters Degree. Renee is currently a technician in the Pain Center Core under Drs Eisenach and Vincler.

Susy Kim (Lab Technician IV) Martin Group.

Tracey Young (Lab Technician IV) Vincler Group.
Tracey Young earned a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Tech. After working for two years in the chemical manufacturing industry, Tracey moved to Winston-Salem to accept a position in the Biochemistry Department with Dr. Carol Cunningham. In April 2005, she transferred to Dr. Michelle Vincler’s lab.
