Application Process
Potential applicants are encouraged to participate in the Personnel Placement Service (PPS), a recruiting event that occurs each year in conjunction with the ASHP Midyear Meeting. As part of PPS, preliminary interviews of qualifying candidates are conducted. After careful evaluation, 5-8 candidates are invited to participate in an on-site interview process at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC). These candidates will be ranked according to the rules and regulations of the ASHP matching process. Candidates who reside locally may travel to WFUBMC for a preliminary interview, but only if not participating in PPS. This application process is only relevant in years when an early commitment from a PGY-1 resident at WFUBMC has not been obtained.
