Research Area:
Hippocampal physiology, metabolism of neurotransmitters, neural and ocular cell biology.

Lectures in Neuroscience Program and in Medical Neuroscience curriculum.

Brief Summary of Research:
Current studies focus on the role of the hippocampal formation in learning and memory, as part of Dr. Sam Deadwyler’s research group. Our work uses animal models as well as in vitro systems to investigate the effects of drugs of abuse on hippocampal function.
