Biographical Sketch

Melissa Smith is the Program Coordinator for the Kate Mills Snider Geriatric Psychiatry Outreach Program (the “GO” Program). She is a graduate of Salem College and has a background in Social Work and Research. Melissa has served as the GO Program Coordinator since the Program’s inception in 2005. Acting as direct contact person for patients and families, assistant to clinicians, research manager, and patient advocate and care coordinator, she ensures continuity of communication between GO team members, GO patients and families, and others involved in their care. Melissa is currently a part-time Graduate student, attending UNC Chapel Hill, earning her Master’s Degree in Social Work.
