Treatment Resistant Depression - TRD Registry Study
This is the first registry specifically for people with TRD. It will collect important long-term information about TRD and quality of life that can help psychiatrists develop strategies tailored for treatment of TRD and prevention recurrence. The TRD Registry is for patients who will be receiving Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Therapy and patients receiving other antidepressant treatment without VNS Therapy. You must be 18 years of age or older and have chronic or recurrent depression that has been resistant to 4 or more adequate antidepressant treatments. Registry patients cannot have any psychotic disorder, now or in the past; have rapid-cycling bipolar disorder in the past; or be currently enrolled in a double-blind investigational study.
Because of space limitations, the Registry cannot include all patients who meet eligibility requirements. Patients not receiving VNS Therapy with participate in the Registry for 2 or 5 years, determined at random.
