Downtown Health Plaza, Winston-Salem, NC

Psychiatry interns spend one month at this hospital-run satellite clinic while completing their pediatrics rotation. This pediatrics clinic is run by the hospital’s pediatrics department.

Hoots Memorial Hospital, Yadkinville, NC 

Upper-level residents rotate through this location as part of their adult outpatient rotation. Hoots Memorial Hospital is owned and operated by WFUBMC, and rotating residents work in the hospital’s mental health partial hospital program and the substance abuse/dual diagnosis day program (New Dawn).   

New River Behavioral Health, Mount Airy, NC

Upper-level residents rotate through this center as part of their adult outpatient rotation. Two agencies (ASAP and New River Behavioral Health) operate at this mental health center and residents work with both agencies. While in Mount Airy, residents work in the local adult clinics and also make home visits with the local ACT team. Residents working with New River Behavioral Health utilize telepsychiatry equipment to assist with clinic.           

New River Behavioral Health, North Wilkesboro, NC

Upper-level residents rotate through this center as part of their adult outpatient rotation. New River Behavioral Health operates this center and rotating residents work in the local adult clinic.

Crossroads Mental Health Center, Statesville, NC

Upper-level residents rotate through this center as part of their adult outpatient rotation. ASAP operates this center and rotating residents work in the local adult clinic, in addition to working in the local crisis stabilization unit.

W. G. Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC

Psychiatry interns spend two months at the Salisbury VAMC while completing their general medicine rotation. Also, upper-level residents spend three months at the Salisbury VAMC while completing their VA selective psychiatry rotation, which includes a combination of inpatient, outpatient, medication management, psychotherapy, substance abuse, geriatric, PTSD and TBI treatment.

Wake Forest University Student Health Center (Reynolda Campus)

During the PG3 year, residents have the opportunity to participate in a year long experience one day per week seeing college and graduate students through the Wake Forest University Student Health Center. The students are seen for psychiatric evaluations, medication management and brief therapy when needed. Residents work with an attending psychiatrist and the staffs of the Health Center and University Counseling Center.

Winston-Salem VA Outpatient Clinic, Winston-Salem, NC

Upper-level residents rotate through this VA clinic as part of their adult outpatient rotation.
