Research Interests:
To understand the mechanism(s) involved in radiation-induced normal tissue injury, including chronic oxidative stress, inflammation, signal transduction, extracellular matrix modulation and antioxidant defenses; to identify and test the potential compounds, which can mitigate the radiation-induced damage of kidney and CNS; to provide rationales for clinicians to design and develop interventional therapeutic approaches in the treatment of radiation-induced late normal tissue injury.
Honors and Awards:
1997-present: Member of Radiation Research Society
2000-present: Member of Oxygen/Free Radical Research Society
2000: Investigator Travel Award for 47th Annual Meeting of the Radiation Research Society
2001-present: Member of American Association of Cancer Research
2007-present: Society of Neuroscience
