Dr. Persons performed his imaging science research in the Department of Radiation Oncology under Dan Bourland, PhD, and is the technical director for the Disruptive Technology Office within the US National Intelligence Office. Congratulations to Todd Atwood, MS, Biomedical Engineering/Radiation Oncology graduate student, for winning First Place in the Poster category at the recent SBES 6th Annual Graduate Student Research Symposium, held May 10, 2007 at Virginia Tech. Todd's PhD research, titled "Monitoring tumor microvascularture development in a rodent model of human GBM using DCE-MRI", is being performed in the 7T MRI animal imaging facility under the direction of Radiation Oncology MR physicist Dr. Jian-Ming Zhu.
