Wendy Turner, CCLS
General Pediatrics
A native of Norwood, North Carolina, Wendy graduated with a B.S. in Child Development/Child Life from Appalachian State University. She completed a Child Life internship at The Children's Hospital of Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, in the summer of 1992. Wendy has been in the field since 1992, including Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center/Brenner Children's Hospital, where she began in 1993.
Wendy became interested in the Child Life field after taking a class on "Stress in Children" while at ASU. "I've always enjoyed working with children." Her areas of practice include the NICU, Infant/Toddler and Preschool/School Age.
Wendy is a professionally certified Child Life Specialist and a member of the Child Life Council. Her other involvements include being on the new Brenner Children's Hospital planning phases, Because We Care-bereavement follow-up program, BCH Festival of Trees decorating committee, and Childlife Week..
Wendy enjoys spending time with her daughters Kristen and Erin, and with her husband Jeff. She also enjoys spending time with her extended family. Personal interests include gardening, being with friends, and church activities.
