Treatment Goals
Treatment goals are established for each patient in the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program. Every patient's rehabilitation plan is individualized to meet his or her special needs. Treatment goals for patients in the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit may include:
· Returning the patient to the highest level of independence possible
· Returning the patient to his/her home or community
· Maximizing the patient's mobility skills, activities of daily living, communication, cognition and swallowing skills
· Helping the patient adjust to disability, including identification of preferred leisure activities
· Improving independent bowel/bladder management
· Improving coping strategies
· Educating the patient and his/her family on specific medical conditions and medications
