Technology Transfer
The Wake Forest University Office of Technology Asset Management works with Wake Forest inventors to identify, protect and transfer novel research discoveries to the commercial sector for development into new products that benefit the public through either traditional licensing (to medical, pharmaceutical and biotech companies) or start-up company formation.
The University’s technology transfer activities ensure public benefit from the fruits of basic and clinical research and generate financial return to the University for reinvestment in the research enterprise.
Downtown Winston-Salem is a burgeoning research development center with more than 40 technology companies concentrated in the developing Piedmont Triad Research Park.
