Why Donate to the WHCoE?
Thank you for visiting the Women’s Health Center of Excellence for Research, Leadership, Education (WHCoE) Donation Page. We appreciate your interest and hope you decide to help us impact the health and professional development of women by making a donation to the Center.
The WHCoE has three primary missions:
1. to promote the professional development and advancement of women faculty and to be a mechanism that leads to increased retention and hiring of women faculty;
2. to facilitate and enhance research in women’s health, with the ultimate goal of growing our research portfolio on women’s health research in the institution; and
3. to educate students, health care providers, and the public on issues in women’s health and women’s health research.
To accomplish our missions we have a Research Program, a Leadership & Mentoring Program, and an Education Program. Each of these Programs has an active committee comprised of Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) faculty and each committee is engaged in providing educational programs and enrichment opportunities.
What Would My Donation be Used for?
Research
ü Sponsorship of the WHCoE’s Annual Women’s Health Seminar Series
ü Sponsorship of research poster awards to Medical Students, Residents and Faculty
ü Funding of Pilot grants in women’s health research: $15,000 minimum to fund one project (donations collected until total is reached)
Leadership
ü Scholarships to female faculty to attend national professional development meetings/ workshops/training sessions
ü Sponsorship of professional development workshops at WFUSM for female faculty
ü Purchase of mentoring materials for Women Junior Faculty Mentoring Program participants and general professional development materials for women faculty
Education
ü Fund continuing medical education workshops for healthcare providers
ü Fund community outreach opportunities
WHCoE Administration
ü Scholarships for students to attend the biennial Graylyn Conference on Women’s Cognitive Health
ü Sponsorship of Domestic Violence Community and Research Projects as part of the Excellence Triathlon
