April 20th, 2010 in Babcock Auditorium. 
This year’s theme is Cardiovascular Health and Disease in Women
The keynote speaker will be Lori Mosca, MD, MPH, PhD, is Professor of Medicine and Director of Preventive Cardiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center; founder and Director of the Columbia Center for Heart Disease Prevention in midtown Manhattan; and author of Heart to Heart: A Personal Plan for Creating a Heart-Healthy Family, published by HCI Books.

In an essay posted on the New York Times web site, Dr. Pauline Chen, a transplant surgeon, writes about, "Taking Time for the Self on the Path to Becoming a Doctor." The essay asserts that doctors need to learn how to create a better sense of balance in their lives from the moment they begin training.

The Fulbright Scholar Program for US Faculty and Professionals for 2010-2011 is open for application. The program is offering 43 lecturing, research or combined lecturing/research awards in the medical sciences, including two Fulbright Distinguished Chairs. In addition, faculty and professionals in the medical sciences also can apply for one of the 144 "All Discipline" awards open to all fields. The application deadline is August 1, 2009.
